It’s that time of year again known as Patio Season, so we’ve scoured the area in search of the best places to enjoy, ingest, and unwind while the weather allows.  What’s your favorite patio in the area? Here are our picks:

Best Patio for People Watching

You know you love it, and if you don’t you’re probably just new to the area.  You’ll find soon enough that something in the water gradually has turned the majority of Shreveporters into looky loos.  Just about everyone you meet is in the business of other people’s business.  And the best patio to observe what other people are doing is Superior’s Steakhouse.  Subtly tucked in the middle of South Highland, everybody worth talking about frequents “The Steakhouse”.  The patio is conveniently located beside the valet kiosk, so you’ll be able to see who’s driving what and who’s tagging along. Pro tip: Order a bottle of  Smith & Hook, Some mac & cheese, and see what happens. Located at 855 Pierremont Suite 120, 318-219-7692

Best Patio for a Louisiana Brunch

Warning: Discovering this little slice of heaven will make it even harder to make it to church on Sunday mornings.  Come here for the Louisiana-accented brunch menu, and you’ll stay for the killer Bloody Mary bar.  Nothing goes better with biscuits and Andouille sausage than a Bloody Mary and sunshine.  It opens at 10:00 AM on Sundays, which gives you plenty of morning beforehand to catch the early Sunday School just a block away at First Baptist.  Pro tip: You can’t go wrong with the special of the day. 4041 Fern Ave.,  Shreveport. 318-868-3004

Best Patio for a Margarita

The patio at The Oyster Bar and Grille might be the best venue in Shreveport for outdoor socializing and dining.  A versatile menu, ample TVs, an excellent bar staff, and arguably the most underrated margaritas are all why the Oyster Bar deserves a spot on the list.  The best time to go is during their happy hour, which is from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM daily (From experience, the Friday Happy Hours are rather legendary). Pro tip: Order the bacon “angel bites”:. Why? Because bacon. Located at 855 Pierremont in Shreveport. 318-213-6978

Best Patio for the Hipster In You

There’s a new place in town and you’ve probably never heard of it.  That statement alone makes Great Raft Brewery the perfect place for the counter-culture, independent-thinking, progressive subculture of Shreveport, but take a look at the other perks: local craft beer on tap, located in a refurbished warehouse that is very clean but still rough around the edges, food truck usually parked on the side lot; Mumford and The Alabama Shakes are practically on repeat, and it’s a target-rich environment for mustache-spotting. The antique-typewriter lover in you will flip when you see that the patio really isn’t even a patio; it’s the brewery’s loading dock with both doors open creating a breezeway.  Pro tip: Take a tour of the brewery before lounging on the patio. You won’t regret it!  Located at 1251 Dalzell.  318-734-9881
