The start of the 2014 NFL season just got a little closer with the announcement of this season’s New Orleans Saints schedule.
The initial challenge for the Saints will be playing 3 of their first 4 games outside of the advantages of Mercedes-Benz Superdome, with the season opener in Georgia against the division rival Atlanta Falcons. The Saints’ season will start with only two home games before the Week 6 bye.
This year, the Saints will play in five prime time games, starting with a Sunday night contest against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. The schedule also features two Monday Night match-ups this season, playing the Baltimore Ravens at home on November 24 while heading to a presumably chilly Soldier Field on December 15 to battle the Chicago Bears.
There is a much-needed nine-day break before Nov. 9, when the Saints host the San Francisco 49ers at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in the first of three consecutive home contests. The Saints have defeated their former NFC West rivals seven of the last eight times in the regular season, last year’s 23-20 win.
