To those of you who didn’t have the most pleasant of Father’s Day experiences yesterday, look on the bright side: at least you didn’t get stabbed.
But that’s apparently what happened to a 21-year old, Many, LA, man. According to Shreveport’s KTBS, an altercation between the man and his father, 46-year old Thomas Shoemaker, resulted in Shoemaker stabbing his son. A silver lining in all of this: Mr. Shoemaker at least had the decency to drive his son to the Sabine Medical Center where he admitted to police that he had stabbed his son after he jumped on him.
Shoemaker was promptly arrested and booked into the Sabine Parish Detention Center. He now faces charges of aggravated second degree battery, a felony offense that carries up to 15 years in prison and fines of up to $10,000.
The son was transported to University Health in Shreveport where is in fair condition.
