There is no doubt that when it comes to eye doctors, Russ Van Norman is one of the best in the business. Not only is he one of the most well-trained ophthalmologists in Northwest Louisiana, he’s creating a new clinic, Shreveport Eye Specialists. Its designed on two tenets: world-class care and world-class service. Dr. Van Norman’s new office is located at 1801 Fairfield Ave, Ste 207 Shreveport, LA 71101.
Dr. Van Norman is a Louisiana native, born and raised in New Orleans, he came to Shreveport in 1999 when he was accepted into LSUHSC-S. Graduating at the top of his class, VanNorman chose to stay in Shreveport for his internship and his residency. Ophthalmology residencies are some of the most competitive, and physicians wishing to match into that specialty have high marks in academics and clinical skills.
After his successful completion of his residency, Van Norman chose to subspecialize and went to the University of South West Texas for a two-year fellowship in corneal surgery and external disease.
He returned to Shreveport and has been working since, but now Van Norman is starting his own clinic with the hopes that his experience as an eye surgeon and his knack for customer service will create a great experience for all of his patients.
“The major focus of my new clinic is on my patients, not just their medical care, which is world class, but also on their experience.” Dr. VanNorman has taken the time to train his handpicked staff to ensure the service his patients get is phenomenal.
While the staff plays an important part in Shreveport Eye Specialists, Dr. Van Norman understands that the patient experience starts and ends with him. “I want to make sure I’m always available to my patients,” he said.
While most other eye clinics in Shreveport can provide basic eye care, only Van Norman can perform the advanced surgeries in Lasik and cataracts. Because of Van Norman’s training, his patients will not be forced to be referred to another office, making Shreveport Eye Specialists a “one-stop shop”.
Shreveport Eye Specialists is always accepting new patients, and there is no procedure too big or too small that can’t be handled in-house.
“Once you try us, you’ll love us,” Van Norman promises.
