Police have arrested two teenage boys, 18-year-old Christian Blankenship and 17-year-old Nathaniel Mendoza, after residents in the 10000 block of Trailridge Drive alerted police that there were two suspicious-looking people moving from yard to yard.
After answering the call, responding officers found the two teenagers in the front yard of a residence and chased them on foot. Shreveport Police patrol officers and a k-9 unit chased the two and apprehended them after a short time.
Once in custody, the SPD property crime division investigated and determined the pair had entered the neighborhood with the intent to commit vehicular burglaries. The investigators discovered several stolen items, including a handgun, that the pair had already taken from neighborhood cars.
Both the of the teens were charged with two counts of Simple Burglary and one count of Resisting Arrest. Mendoza was also charged with one count of Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling.
