An anonymous Crimestoppers tip has lead Shreveport Police investigators to charges and arrest two people they accuse or burglary, pawning stolen jewelry, and using stolen credit cards.
More of the story from the Shreveport Police:
On August 21, 2017, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to reports of a home burglary in the 1900 block of Highland Avenue. Officers learned that the homeowner had been out of town for several days and returned to find her home had been entered and credit cards, jewelry, and other items taken from within.
Detectives were assigned to the case and upon follow up learned that the victim’s credit cards had been used at multiple locations in Shreveport. Detectives secured video footage showing the victim’s cards being used by a female and male on separate occasions. The video of the female was made available to the public and within hours of the video airing, Crime Stoppers received information claiming that the person in the video was Amanda Harris, 33, of the 2300 block of Highland Avenue. Detectives followed up on that tip and verified the information. Detectives were also able to identify the male captured on video as, Adam Rambo, 34, of the 1900 block of Highland, a known associate of Harris. Investigators combed the local pawn shops and learned that Rambo had also pawned jewelry taken from the burglary at a local pawn shop
Investigators located Rambo on November 14, 2017 at Caddo Correctional Center, where he was incarcerated on unrelated charges. Detectives charged Rambo with one count each of Attempted Access Device Fraud, Illegal Possession of Stolen Things, and Theft from the pawn shop. Harris was taken into custody on November 18, 2017 and charged with one count of Access Device Fraud. She was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
This case is proof that anonymous tips made to Crimestoppers can have a positive impact on the community by helping to take criminals off the street.
