SHREVEPORT, Mar. 6, 2018-
A Keithville man, Taurean Lamar Thomas, 32, has been sentenced to life in prison after the savage beating of Ronald Reddix in 2016.
According to the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office, On June 22, 2016, Thomas beat Ronald Reddix in the 300 block of East 74th Street in Cedar Grove. During the beating, Reddix received several serious injuries that have left him with permanent hearing loss.
After the beating, Thomas stood over Reddix and had an accomplice film a video of him celebrating the beating, and holding a handgun. The District Attorney’s Office described the video as a “rap video.”
Thomas then shared the video on Facebook.
The prosecution filed a multiple-habitual offender bill due to Thomas’ three previous felony convictions. This was cause to give Thomas the life sentence for the Second Degree Battery charge. He was also given an additional 20 years hard labor for the firearm charge.
