SHREVEPORT, April 2, 2018-
The Caddo Parish Animal Shelter (CPAS) announced that they will hold a “Kids Day” event at the shelter on April 7, 2018, from 10 AM-2 PM.
According to a press release from CPAS:
Kids Day is designed to expose children and families of all ages to animals, provide pet ownership education and to encourage shelter animal adoption. Participants will be able to engage in pet-related activities and interact with shelter animals, including the opportunity to “read stories” to animals currently available for adoption.
“A critical part of responsible pet ownership is making sure that potential adopters are comfortable around animals and knowledgeable of proper pet care practices,” said CPAS Interim Director Kelvin Samuel. “Kids Day at the Shelter allows some of our youngest citizens the opportunity to interact with animals in a safe environment and allow them to learn at the same time.”
The event is free and open to all members of the public. CPAS is also offering promotional adoption fee of $30.00 during the event. Snacks will be provided along with some pet education materials.
