SHREVEPORT, Feb. 13

The Shreveport Police Department is looking for a man they say is accused of breaking into a local business in late November 2017.

According to police:

On November 16, 2017 just after 3:00 am, Shreveport Police officers responded to an alarm at the 70th Street Corner Store in the 600 block of East 70th Street. They arrived to find the front window of the business shattered. The suspects appeared to have been frightened by the alarm and were not on scene when officers arrived.

Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit were assigned to the case. They were able to secure video footage of the crime, which showed two subjects approach the front door of the business and strike it with a blunt object, believed to be a hammer. The suspects did not make entry due to the alarm sounding and both fled on foot. With the assistance of the Community Liaison Officers, detectives were able to identify both suspects. One of the individuals was found to be a juvenile and the other was identified as 19-year-old Joshua Stringer of the 500 block of East 73rd Street. The juvenile was arrested and booked into the Caddo parish Juvenile Detention Center. Detectives procured a warrant for Stringer charging him with one count of Attempted Simple Burglary. Bond was set at $20,000.00.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest of Stringer. You can contact them at 318-673-7373 or at their website at Lockemup.org. Information can also be submitted via the app, P3Tips.
