As part of a four-year-long road improvement project, the City of Shreveport plans to take on 82 new street projects in 2018. The total of these projects will be $6.6 million.

Of the 82 projects, 77 will be asphalt neighborhood street projects. The other five will be concrete reconstruction projects.

“At this point, the City will begin addressing local roadway networks and continue work on Linwood Avenue,” a press release from the Mayor’s office said.

Besides the proposed street improvement projects, the city also plans to spend $500,000 to the Concrete Street Improvements project to address concrete street panel repairs that fall beyond the capacity of the Public Works Department. This will bring the total up to $7.1 million.
