A shooting that occurred in the Shreveport Sunset Acres neighborhood on Sunday has left one man dead and one man in critical condition.

According to Shreveport Police, around 7:30 pm on Sunday night, police officers were called out to the 2900 block of Hillcrest Avenue after several neighbors called 911 and reported hearing gunfire.

Once officers arrived they were taken to the location where two males had been shot. According to Shreveport Police, both victims had “multiple gunshot wounds to various parts of the body.”

One man was declared dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his next of kin has been notified. The other man is Jaeric Carey, and he was taken via ambulance to University Health for medical treatment. Officials state that he is expected to survive his injuries.

Detectives believe the two victims were sitting in a parked car in the driveway of a residence when they were ambushed. The detectives found the victim’s car “riddled with bullets.”

At this time, no suspects have been identified and Detectives are struggling to release a description or motive.
