The Shreveport Police Department has been busy this week investigating a rash of sex crimes. Not only did the department arrest a local youth athletics coach on charges of Juvenile Molestation, they also took two other men into custody for sex-related crimes and are currently chasing a third.

Edgar McBride

55-year-old Edgar McBride, of the 4400 block of Meriwether Road was arrested on November 29th, 2017. Authorities state that McBride allegedly paid an undercover agent to have sex with an underage victim.

McBride was arrested as part of an undercover operation ran by the Shreveport Police Department’s Vice Unit. When officers attempted to arrest McBride at a local hotel, he allegedly tried to escape on foot, but was pursued and caught by officers. He is currently being held at the Caddo Correctional Center on one count each of Indecent Behavior with Juveniles, Soliciting Prostitution, and Resisting an Officer.

Abdullah Singleton

Singleton was arrested and charged with two counts of Molestation of Juveniles after he allegedly watched pornographic movies and fondled himself in front of two children, aged eleven and twelve, on multiple occasions beginning in March of 2017.

Detectives from the Shreveport Police Sex Crimes Investigation Unit worked the case and collected enough information to obtain a warrant and arrest Singleton on November 28th, 2017, after learning of the crimes through police reports. He is currently in custody at the Shreveport City Jail. Singleton is 38-years-old and lives in Shreveport.

Cornelius Crutchfield

Shreveport Police are hunting Cornelius Crutchfield, a man they suspect of raping a juvenile back in 2015. The 27-year-old Crutchfield, of the 4200 block of Lakeshore Drive is being charged with Second Degree Rape. His bond has been set at $250,000.

The crime allegedly occurred two years ago and involved a teenage victim.
