Friday, September 15th

The Highland Jazz and Blues Festival Preview Party at Great Raft Brewing starts at 6pm. The event will feature local bands, local food, and local beer. A percentage of every beer will be donated to the High Jazz and Blues Festival.

SiDE fX is playing at Nicky’s Downtown, show starts at 6:30pm.

Fatty Arbuckle’s Pub is hosting a Bourbon and Stick Pappy Tasting, starts at 7pm.

Barnes & Noble’s is hosting a family night, starts at 7pm.

Bo Phillips Band is performing at The Stage in Bossier City, starts at 7pm.

The Shreveport Mudbugs hockey team is playing their opening game against the Lone Star Brahmas, puck drops at 7:11pm.

Bon Temps Coffee Bar is hosting a Karaoke and game night, runs from 7pm-10pm.

The Bone Dancers and Skeleton Key will be performing at Strange Brew. $5 cover. Begins at 9:30pm.

Saturday, September 16th

The Highland Jazz and Blues Festival begins at 11am, at Columbia Park in Shreveport. Events include live music and more than 60 local food and art vendors. Dogs are welcome.

Chimp Haven’s Chimpanzee Discovery Day takes place at 9am and runs until noon. Children under 5 are free.

Learning Express Toys of Shreveport is hosting a Puppy Storytime. Bring your pup and meet veterinarian Andrea Everson. Starts at 10:30am.

Great Raft Brewing is hosting a Brewery Tasting and Tour from 1pm-4pm.

The Highland Jazz and Blues Festival After-Party will be at Twisted Root, featuring the band Magnolia Mae. Party starts at 7 pm.

The Shreveport Mudbugs play their second of two games against the Lone Star Brahmas, puck drops at 7:11pm.

Basic Cable is playing at Strange Brew, starts at 9pm.

The Rebirth Brass Band is playing at Fatty Arbuckle’s. Show starts at 10pm. .

Sunday, September 17th

Renegade Firearms Training is hosting a Louisiana Concealed Carry Course. Cost is $125.00 and lunch is provided. Class begins at 9am.

Bark in the Park Dog Day at Splash Kingdom Waterpark starts at 2pm. Admission is $18 and all dogs must have proof of up to date vaccinations.

Red River Brewing is hosting a jam session featuring local artists. Starts at 2pm.
