A vehicle crash on Friday night has left one man hospitalized. According to Shreveport Police, 18-year-old Andre George was riding a dirt bike with no headlights when he was struck by a Chevrolet Impala driven by 22-year-old Shaquory Young. The accident occurred at the intersection of St. Vincent Ave and West 84th Street.

The Shreveport Fire Department responded to the scene and found George pinned underneath the Impala. After a lengthy extrication, George was transported to University Health with “serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.”

Upon investigation, Shreveport Police officers determined that Young had George collided after Young stopped at a stop sign and entered the intersection. Young was taken to the Shreveport Police Complex and was found to have no signs of impairment. George was sited for not having insurance, not having registration, and not wearing a helmet. He remains hospitalized at University Health.
