SHREVEPORT, LA, May 23, 2018-

Shreveport Police are searching for a man they believe is responsible for a mid-day shooting that took place Monday, May 21, 2018.

According to a press release from the department, 19-year-old Carnell Briggs shot several weapons at multiple houses on Mertis Street near Catherine Street and Frederick Street. One man, 20-year-old Deandrew Mosley, was wounded in the lower part of his body. Mosley was driven to University Health hospital by a private vehicle and is described as having “non-life threatening” injuries.

Detectives arrived on the scene shortly after receiving multiple reports of shots fired. After interviewing witnesses and collecting physical evidence, which included “shell cases”, investigators were able to obtain a warrant for “Illegal Use of a Weapon.”

Police say that Briggs is also wanted in connection with another shooting. According to the press release from SPD, “He was last seen driving a black Nissan Altima with Texas tags and is believed to be armed and dangerous.”
