Caddo District Judge John Mosely Jr. has sentenced Jeffery Lamar Brooks, 39, of Shreveport, to 10 years in prison for one count of molestation of a juvenile and once count of indecent behavior with a juvenile.

More from the Caddo District Attorney’s Office:

Shreveport man found guilty in September of sex acts against two teenaged girls over the course of a decade was sentenced Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in Caddo District Court.

Jeffery Lamar Brooks, 39, of Shreveport, was sentenced by Caddo District Judge John Mosely Jr. to five years at hard labor for one count of molestation of a juvenile and five years at hard labor for one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile. The terms will run concurrently.

Brooks, convicted on September 29, 2017, had faced up to 10 years at hard labor on the molestation of a juvenile charge and up to seven years for the indecent behavior with a juvenile charge.
In his ruling, Judge Mosely cited the time between each offense, which were 2003 and 2013 respectively, the fact that the victims did not know each other yet made similar accusations against Brooks, the fact that Brooks showed no remorse and the likelihood that Brooks would offend again as factors he considered in handing down his sentence.

Assistant District Attorneys Pamela R. Moser and Britney A. Green prosecuted Brooks, who was defended by Jermaine Antonio Florence.

The Caddo DA’s office has confirmed that Brooks’ counsel will file a Notice of Appeal, but states that such a filing is routine.
